K.2.4 Endometrial carcinoma

  • From a 65 year old female who presented with irregular bleeding per vaginum for 2 months.

 

  • The specimen is that of the uterus along with the cervix, a cuff of vagina and both fallopian tubes and ovary of one side.
  • The fallopian tubes and ovary appear normal.
  • The cervix and the vaginal cuff show no abnormality.
  • The uterus however shows a necrotic haemorrhagic lump arising from the fundus.
  • This tumour mass seems to have approached the internal cervical os and almost fills the uterine cavity.

 

  • Histology showed Adenocarcinoma
