H.6.1 Renal Infarct

  • The kidney is bisected longitudinally.
  • The outer surface shows pale yellow colour patchy areas in both halves.
  • The periphery of these areas appears reddish black due to congestion and haemorrhagic.
  • Cut surface of the left half shows a prominent wedge shaped infracted area in the cortex.
  • The apex of the infarct is pointing towards the medulla.
  • The periphery appears reddish black due to congestion and haemorrhage.
  • This could probably be due to an embolus.
