H.5.5 Renal cell carcinoma
- The surface is smooth.
- The cut surface of the kidney shows a demarcated tumour.
- There is compression of the cortex and medulla.
- The tumour is pale, pink and irregular.
- Some areas appear black in colour, most likely due to haemorrhage.
- A portion of the calyx is seen over the upper part of the kidney.
- A rim of the compressed renal tissue is present at the periphery.
