H.2.4 Acute pyelonephritis
- Surface appears irregular and bosselated.
- Cut surface: Upper half of the kidney shows areas of congestion and early necrotic changes (on the top part of the right half of the kidney viewed from above, see arrow).
- Cortico-medullary demarcation is indistinct.
Note: presence of multiple abscesses confirmed on histologically.
