C.1.3 (b) Liver metastases

Liver – (1850 g)

  • Shows deposits on the undersurface (arrow).
  • Enlarged lymph nodes can be seen at the porta hepatis.
  • Gall bladder is adherent to the liver.

Kidneys – (150 g each)

  • No deposits.
  • Left kidney shows a cyst in the cortex.

Spleen – (350 g)

  • Cut section shows, numerous round nodules, of varying sizes. (One indicated by an arrow).
  • Outer surface shows 2 discrete enlarged lymph nodes, cut section of which are pink and fleshy.
  • Histology confirmed Hodgkin's lymphoma.
