R.1.5 Empyema of gall bladder
- The patient presented with fever, vomiting, abdominal pain.
- On examination the patient had a mass in the right hypochondrium.
- Cut open gall bladder, contains a dark coloured stone in the lower part of the cavity.
- The gall bladder is dilated and the wall thickened.
- The mucosa is lined by grayish friable looking material.
- Tissue adjoining the stone seems to be breaking down.
