R.1.3 Empyema of gall bladder with gall stones and chronic cholecystitis
- Cut open to show a thickened wall.
- Mucosa is congested.
- Breaking down abscesses of about 1-2 cm in diameter is seen in the mucosa.
- A large black stone occupies the Hartmann’s pouch.
- Small black stone can be seen lying free.
- Serosal surface of the gall bladder is congested.
