F.3.1 Multiple metastatic deposits in the liver
- There are large homogenous whitish masses of varying sizes, embedded in the liver.
- Some of these are jutting out of the capsular surface and show some lobulations and it is giving the liver surface an irregular appearance.
- The masses are encapsulated and are clearly demarcated from the liver tissue.
- Some of them show necrosis in the center - ‘umbilication’
- Differential diagnosis:
- Multiple secondaries from carcinoma, lymphoid neoplasm, sarcoma
- Gummas
- Histology confirmed squamous carcinoma deposits.
