F.2.9 Biliary Cirrhosis
- The specimen is that of a part of the liver with the entire gall-bladder from a post-mortem.
- The surface of the liver shows fine mottling.
- These appear to be pale white in color.
- The gall-bladder however looks normal.
- The cut surface of the liver shows dark areas alternating with pale white areas (probably fibrosed areas).
- A tinge of bile staining is seen on the cut surface.
- Since the bile ducts are not included it is difficult to comment on a mechanical obstructive disease.
