F.1.3 Liver abscess – Pyogenic/ Amoebic
- The liver is cut longitudinally.
- There is a large irregular necrotic area sub diaphragmatically with a shaggy wall.
- The lesion is not encapsulated. The margin is formed by the necrotic liver tissue itself.
- The necrotic area shows haemorrhage.
- The whole cut surface looks unhealthy with small patches of necrosis.
