P.1.12 Carcinoma of ileo-caecal junction
- The specimen contains a small segment of ileum, caecum and ascending colon.
- The specimen has been cut open to show a growth arising from the ileo-caecal junction.
- The growth is round, about 4cm in diameter and has a fairly well defined margin.
- The cut section of the growth has a mucoid appearance and focal haemorrhagic patches.
- There is no apparent infiltration of the surrounding structures.
- The histology confirmed mucinous adenocarcinoma of colon.
