O.3.1 Mesenteric lymphadenopathy

  • This is a Specimen of small intestine with the mesentery
  • There is a large pale growth about 8 cm in diameter.
  • The surface is nodular and shows some blackish areas which may be haemorrhagic.
  • The mesentery itself appears grossly thickened.
  • The growth appears to be jutting into the lumen, causing a constriction of the lumen.

Differential diagnosis:

    1. Secondaries in lymph nodes
    2. Lymphoma
