E.3.3 Malignancy of gastro-oesophageal junction
- Specimen of lower part of oesophagus and fundus of stomach opened up to show a growth arising from the wall of the gastro-oesophageal junction, and occluding the oesophagus, completely.
- The growth seems to have no capsule.
- Areas of necrosis are seen in the tumour.
- The mucosa of the stomach seems to be thickened, probably due to invasion by the tumour.
