  • The stomach has been opened into and shows normal rugae pattern.
  • Superiorly invading the stomach wall is a homogenous mass (white arrow).
  • This mass had been removed surgically from the lower end of the oesophagus but is seen to invade the upper part of the stomach.
  • Histology confirmed a squamous cell carcinoma of oesophagus.
