E.3.1 Carcinoma of the gastro-oesophageal junction
- The stomach has been opened into and shows normal rugae pattern.
- Superiorly invading the stomach wall is a homogenous mass (white arrow).
- This mass had been removed surgically from the lower end of the oesophagus but is seen to invade the upper part of the stomach.
- Histology confirmed a squamous cell carcinoma of oesophagus.
