- The fetuses appear to be identical but connected at the thorax and abdomen.
- The thoracic cavity contains a single heart and one pair of lungs in common.
- The abdominal cavity shows a common diaphragm, single liver but two separate intestinal tracts.
- There is a singleton placenta with a single umbilical cord common to both foetues
