K.4.1 Adenomyosis of the uterus
- This is from a 42 year old female with a history of menorrhagia for 6 months.
- The specimen is that of the uterus with the cervix.
- The uterus appears to be bulky and trabecular.
- The cut section shows marked increase in thickness of the myometrium with scattered foci of haemorrhage (not clearly seen due to aging of specimen).
- The cervix shows few nabothian cysts in the region of the external os.
