K.3.4 Leiomyoma polyp of the uterus protruding out from the cervix

  • 45 years old women presented with menorrhagia and dysmenorrhoea for 6 months.

 

  • Specimen shows uterus, cervix, one fallopian tube and ovary.
  • Uterus shows a polyp protruding out from the cervical canal.
  • There is an area of necrosis at the stalk.
  • The cervix appears to be cupped in to accommodate the protruding polyp.
  • Histology conformed a Leiomyomatous polyp.
