K.1.17 Dysgerminoma of ovary
- The patient, a 15 years old female had presented with abdominal cramps, and on examination was found to have a lump in the abdomen.
- The lump is 1kg in weight, kidney shaped, with a lobular and nodular surface.
- Specks of hemorrhages are seen under the transparent outer covering, mainly in the upper pole.
- The cut surface as well as the outer surface is homogenously pale in colour.
- The upper pole however is dark due to haemorrhage and crumbly with a cavity formed probably due to tissue necrosis.
- Histology confirmed a Dysgerminoma.
