V.3.1 Papillary thyroid carcinoma in a colloid goitre
- Thyroid of a 47 years old male who presented with a progressive enlargement of left lobe of thyroid gland for 4 years duration.
- On examination there was a hard lump in left lobe.
- The specimen consisted of four parts.
- The right upper piece shows haemorrhagic and cystic areas.
- There is a cystic lesion with papillary fronds.
- The lower right pieces is composed of papillae.
- The rest shows colloid areas.
- Histology confirmed a colloid goitre.
