Z.1.1 Atheroma of artery
- Longitudinally open descending aorta shows a number of openings which are the openings of the intercostal arteries.
- On the luminal surface of the artery are yellowish raised patches along the whole length of the artery.
- These are seen at the origins of arterial branches too.
- These are atheromatous plaques.
- Some of the plaques have ulcerated.
