- Arrow indicates a thrombus occluding a blood vessel probably an artery.
- The thrombus has a pale area and a dark portion – Probably the platelet thrombus and the fibrin clot.
- The cut surface shows light and dark patchy areas. But does not show obvious large areas of infarction.
- Outer surface has a fibrinous tag over the pleura.
