  • The left ventricle, left atrium and the aorta at its commencement are opened in to.
  • The aorta shows atheromatous plaques.
  • The aortic valve and the mitral valve are normal.
  • The endocardium shows some fibrosis and there is thinning of the cardiac wall at the apex.
  • There is also a mural thrombus.
